You do know the one with the beautifully colored plumage is the male peacock and it only presents itself like that to attract the plain colored female, right?
So basically the only role your fabulousness has is to impress the plain ol’ me. And I may or may not give a fuck.

Doesn’t that look beautiful?

Like something you’d find on one of those soft/pale/rosy/grunge blogs?

Well nothing too rosy on my blog.

The Bolton Strid in England is one of the most innocent looking streams.

Though it looks like you could just hop across the rocks, but if you miss you will die for sure. It packs very rapid currents just a couple of feet below its surface. No one really knows how deep it really is. Nobody who has ever fallen into the Strid has survived. It has a 100% fatality rate.

It’s always the things I google expecting to be false that wind up being horribly true.

SOURCE

"It’s relatively common for people to assume they can jump the creek, walk across its stones or even wade through it (again, just looking at it, the Strid really seems to be only knee-deep in places, and certainly not the instant, precipitous drop into a watery grave that it is). Most of the time, they never even find the body. Which means there are just dozens of corpses down there, pinned to the walls of the underground chasms, waiting for you to join them…"

that is horrifying, england.

It’s days like this that I like to remember that the Irish government are ever proud of the Spire of Dublin.

image

It’s literally a 400 ft metal spike sticking out of the ground. It was supposed to be done for the new millennium but they didn’t start building it until 2002.

And it’s supposed to be self-cleaning but it doesn’t work and there’s no way to clean it.

Ireland.

not to mention it’s ‘unofficial name’

the erection at the intersection

Dutch street painter Leon Keer (previously featured here) recently spent three days in the city of Nijmegen in the eastern Netherlands creating a new piece of awesome anamorphic art for an international drawing festival called The Big Draw. Although it doesn’t seem like it when viewing it from the front, this painting measures about 15 meters (~50 ft) long.

It depicts a little girl sitting in an empty trunk playing make-believe with her dog friend. The illusion is so convincing that, the first time we looked at the top photo, we didn’t realize the second girl perched on the inside of the lid of the trunk is a live person posing with the artwork and not part of the actual painting.

"We Are The Crystal Gems"

from the pilot of Steven Universe created by Rebecca Sugar

If you’re evil and you’re on the rise

You can count on the four of us taking you down

'cause we're good and evil never beats us

We’ll win the fight and then go out for pizzas

  -

We are the Crystal Gems

We’ll always save the day

And if you think we can’t

We’ll always find a way

  -

That’s why the people of this world… believe in

Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl and Steven!

This is a wildlife bridge in the Netherlands. Wildlife bridges are designed to help animals cross busy highways in safety. They don’t just protect wildlife from being hit by cars - they also connect fragmented habitats and help populations intermingle and breed.

The Netherlands is leading the way in designing these bridges. The country is home to more than 600 similar crossings.

So fucking dope

i guess you could say it’s an..

animal crossing

We have these in Canada too

WHY DID THAT PUN GO UNNOTICED

Lucky Clover Garden Giveaway!
You’ve all been incredibly helpful as I’ve been trying to make my little town of Pagford beautiful, and now it’s almost exactly how I want it! I really appreciate everything you’ve all done to help me out, so I want to do something nice in return! As so many people have expressed interest in getting clovers, either for pathways or for decoration, I decided this would be really fun!
I’m going to randomly choose three winners! Each will receive:
120 lucky clovers
20 saplings/bush starts of your choice (you can do a combo if you’d like)
30 flowers of your choice
One million bells
And either a golden axe or a golden watering can! (optional!)
Please like & reblog one time each for a total of two entries. I will be choosing the winners on Friday, 26 September, at 1PM EST. I will then contact the winners and they will have 48 hours to respond with their personal requests. It may also take me up to two days to get everyone’s stuff ready, depending on the requests, so bear that in mind! Also, as this is 161 items total, please make sure that you have room in your town. I will be delivering it all to you!
Thank you again to everyone who has been so helpful and kind to me!!
